Excellent Schools,
School Safety &
Practical Education

As a current ESL teacher, I see every day how much strong schools, supportive parents, safe classrooms, and great teachers matter for students and families.

I support strong reading instruction, practical academics, career and technical pathways, meaningful parental involvement, school safety, secure buildings, and high standards that prepare students for real life.

Students cannot learn effectively if they do not feel safe. Schools need the resources to maintain secure buildings, support student behavioral needs, strengthen safety planning, and build strong partnerships between schools, parents, and local communities.

I support Minnesota’s structured literacy reforms because reading matters. But teachers are also being asked to do more and more outside the classroom.

Practical reform should reduce unnecessary bureaucracy and allow educators to spend more time focused on students.

Strong schools depend on strong partnerships between parents, teachers, and communities.
